At last!!!!!
posted by Lee Beckett on 19:Jul:1997:22:47:03.
Whenever I mentioned that I was a fan of Interceptor to anyone recently, they have always
responded "what was that?" Imagine my delight at finding this site dedicated to it, as well
as it's superb theme tune. I have spent the last 7 years trying to find a copy, even
talking to Zack Laurence on the phone! Listen guys, we need to get someting together to get
this show repeated or resurrected. Has anyone got the Chatsworth address? I will not rest
until I see it on the screen again. Also, anyone got a copy of any of the episodes they can
pass on to me. I will be glad to reimburse any costs. I have had Interceptor deficency for
8 years. Please provide me with a cure!!!!!

YAY for Chris!! You found your tapes eh?? Great! Which episodes were they??
Yeah Moogle - I agree with you. The Interceptor and Mikey were a classic double act! :o)
Michael Malric-Smith is a director of Castle Air so I can't see any problems in getting him
to serve the Interceptor again! :o) I'll be putting more pics and sounds up soon hopefully.
Lee - you spoke to Zack?? Really?? Wow! How did you get hold of him? What is he up to these
days? I only have one video at the moment, but I'm planning on getting a new one soon. When
I do, I'll make a few copies for anyone that wants them. I'd rather see the episodes
repeated though - so everyone can see again what a great show it was.

Zack + Tapes

Yep, Chris. Although it was a while ago, after Interceptor had finished for a while.
About 1991 or so. At that time of course, he was doing the CM music and whatever.
I didn't chat to him long, just asked how I could get a copy of Rock Revolution.
Seems a nice guy. Look, anyone, although I've download RR from the website, I need
a copy on cassette to play in the car, and also that is of quite good quality (which recording from the computer directly to tape is not). Can anyone help? I'll
be glad to reimburse postage and send own cassette etc. To the same extent, I am
keen to borrow anyone's copy of any episode to relive Interceptor. Please help.
Cheers, Lee

Interceptor Repeats

I intend to keep you updated on any advances with
regards to getting Interceptor repeated on the telly.
I have both written to Chatsworth Television and Challenge TV (a
satellite channel that has been recently screening Treasure Hunt and is the one that is most
likely to re-run the series).
I will keep you posted.....

This is such a good site I'm downloading the 7"
theme music again tonight and blasting it around my internet cafe. All the guys here remembered Interceptor the
moment the midi version started playing. Good stuff indeed.
I had a chap e-mail me about some 'Adventure Game' tapes he found;
I'll find out if he's
got any Interceptor ones too.
Laters, the wave files about to start soon.... 8-)#

Hi Guys!
Remember me, I started this forum off under the name of the Ghost Of
Elvis.
Just thought I'd say hi.
A mate of mine (Interceptor fan) has just returned from a holiday in
Florida and guess what?
A station in the states is showing a show almost identical to the
Interceptor called "Seek and Destroy" I'll let you know more about this when I
hear myself.

Many congrats are due to Chris Hart on the
improvements to this page since the last time I visited it.
Although I have a natural allegiance to The Crystal Maze (ask the
others if you don't know), for what it's worth I found Interceptor to be a more exciting
show in many ways. To this end, it's a crime that it never got a second series.
I'm interested to hear from the posts above about the initiatives some
fans are taking re: Challenge TV repeats, and the Seek and Destroy show.
Keep the news coming, Chris - one day I'm hoping you'll be rewarded!
David.

Idea for Interceptor

Bodycombe on 16:Aug:1997:16:21:25.
...By the way, if there was a "Return of the
Interceptor" series made, I think it would be interesting if there was a male host and a female Interceptor.
Contraversial, yes, but possibly very interesting.
Just a thought.
David.

Thanks for your comments David! :o)
A female Interceptor eh?? Hmmmm! Could be good, but who would they
pick?? It would have to be someone mean and nasty!! Anyone got any ideas?? :o) I mean, someone
nice as the Interceptor just wouldn't work!! The male contestant would let himself
get caught far too easily!!
With regard to Challenge TV and possible repeats, a fellow Interceptor
fan (Lee Beckett) has received a reply from Challenge with reference to Interceptor
repeats:-
Dear Lee
Many thanks for your letter about the Interceptor.
As I've said to previous correspondents, we have no current plans to
show this series, but our Programmes Acquisition department are aware of the requests from
viewers. Like all suggestions, they are reviewing this programme along with others
available on the market at the moment.
Sorry this is a bit vague, but that's the current situation. Thanks again for contacting Challenge TV.
Best wishes

So! This could be a standard reply to all fan letters of this type,
but taking it at face value, if they really are aware of Interceptor, then maybe everyone
should write to them who hasn't already done so! If someone has the address for Challenge
TV, can you please forward it to me, and I will put a request on the main Interceptor
page. Come on!!! It could happen! The only way we will ever get a second series is for a
successful repeat of the first series.
As I suggested to Lee, maybe we should all club together and buy the
rights to Interceptor for ourselves!! :o)

Hi All!
Glad to hear that the appeal for a repeat run of the first series has
been met with so much warmth and enthusiasm.
If you wish to e-mail Challenge, the best bet is to write to
challenge_text.co.uk
Make sure you mention that you wish for your plea to be passed to the
Programme Acquisition department.
It may also be worth mentioning this web site as a back-up to the
resurgance of fans that there is!
Cheers,
Lee

Hi!
Thanks for that Challenge address Lee. If anyone can tell me the
postal address, I would still like to put that on the main page. I feel that a written letter
carries more weight and is less likely to get lost than an email. Emails are easy - some
thought and effort has to go into a letter though.
I've just received a letter from Chatsworth TV regarding a few
questions I put to them. I asked if the pilot episodes still existed. I believe there were two
pilots made - one with John Iles, and one with Sean O'Kane - but its not confirmed. What is
confirmed though, is the following:-
i) There are no pilot episodes still in existance
ii) The pilots were not televised
iii) Chatsworth had no involvment with the US version of Interceptor.
I have no idea what the pilot shows would have been like. Maybe just
set up situations, or maybe a full show! Either way, its very depressing that an unbroadcast
episode has gone!! There is no way they could have been broadcast, but I would still like
to have seen them. Chris M. Dickson has a copy of the US pilot of Interceptor I believe.
I must twist is arm to get a copy! Hint hint! :)

Hi! Me again!! :o)
I hope people don't think I'm too sad for posting to my own site, but
anyway I just wanted to let everyone know Chatsworth Television's email address.
It is 106035.663@compuserve.com
Anyone that hasn't already done so might like to mail them and say how
much they liked the programme. It also doesn't hurt to pester them for repeats either! It
might just give them a shove to try and start marketing it again. Well you never know!!

Challenge Address

Hi Again!
Just to say that I actually entered the e-mail address wriong above
for Challenge TV.
It is actually : challenge_text@flextech.co.uk
The postal address for the teletext service (which is the best bet
because it is designed to be a feedback point for Challenge TV) is as follows:
Challenge text
c/o Adrian Last,
Challenge tv Marketing,
160 Great Portland Street,
London,
W1N 5TB
Don't forget to request that it be passed to Programme Acquisition.
Cheers!

I don't have a copy of the US pilot, more's the
pity. Maybe one day, though. (Just to clear up any possible confusion, I've seen the first three or four minutes
of it, from tape, though, when I was in the US last summer... and there was something
that was somehow not quite right about it.)
Wonder what Chatsworth _are_ up to nowadays, though? It's been far too
long since we've seen anything from them at all, more's the pity...
Cheers!
Chris (who loves this site more than ever, BTW)

I've just been reading the above messages on this

to the afore-mentioned addresses. I like the site, have you any more pictures available?
Bye for now.

Hi John!
I do have a two or three more picture which I need to get scanned -
I'm afraid they are black & white like before.
Please keep checking back though - especially in December as I will be
buying a video capturing card very soon. Web space allowing, you should find lots of
high quality grabs from each show, together with MPEG movie clips. I hope to include a movie clip of the opening titles, or maybe a good
ambush or two! If
anyone has any requests for grabs or movies etc - please let me know
asap.
