I'd completely forgotten about this show until I stumbled across this website - it was an absolutely superb show. Good luck with trying to revive it!

Interceptor! I thouht I'd dremt it. But no it was for real. I was only 14 when it was first on air, and loved it. I've spoken to people about it over the years but nobody has ever heard of it. They all thought I'd made it up. Hooray for Interceptor!

I'm a bit confused i never saw the interceptor but a similar programm aired in around 92, where people were on the run and got 1000 pounds every week they survived not getting caught. They could go on the run all over the country, that prog was sweet, but i can't remeber the name? any ideas. cheers, and good luck in the quest for getting int. on the screens again.

I agree with the above posts.

Don't forget Baywatch was cancelled by NBC just as it was getting popular. It took the show's stars to buy the rights and get funding from LWT and now its the world's biggest syndicated TV show.

Chatsworth are only relatively small production company and I can't imagine the license for Interceptor is prohibitively expensive. I'm suprised someone doesn't buy the format rights or at least license them to produce a new series. It's a highly saleable format and in this age of Internet Marketing and 'format' shows such as Fort Boyard (a French TV format syndicated across the world) Inteceptor 2000 could be a hot hit again.

But, It would have to have Sean O'Kane as the star: I remember when watching it first time round how I thought this guy was a pro. He had that sort of "I take myself seriously" humor that I haven't seen since Lewis Collins hamming it up in Cluedo.

Why doesn't someone do a DVD release too?

Forget Challenge TV, how about trying Channel 4 ? They'll show anything if they can fit it in their schedules.

All of these companies care about one thing: advertising revenue. If enough viewers write in to the relevant person (Programme Acquisitions) then they DO consider these things seriously.

I LIKE IT!

Just like to echo the comments here. This site is pretty special when you consider how long ago it all was. Definitely one of the best shows in TV history.

If they were to remake it HAS to have Sean O'Kane, for my money he made the show what it was, I'm amazed we haven't seen more of him on prime time.

Anyway keep up the good work and fingers crossed for a rerun or better still a new series.

Ian
