Mark is concerned that the Interceptor may now be on foot and peers through the smoke for a glimpse of his pursuer. Mark reaches the barn and glances back to see the Interceptor advancing towards him. Mark runs ahead of the attacking soldiers and stands with his pack pressed against a stone wall.

The Interceptor arrives at the barn, standing in front of Mark and explaining that its no use keeping the pack against the wall, because the zaps go right through! (9)

The Interceptor heads back the way he came, looking for Mikie, whilst Mark runs into the barn for his key. Mikie lands in a field just the other side of the barn. Mark's key is dangling from the roof in the barn. He is lifted up by a soldier to claim his key. The Interceptor spots where Mikie has landed and runs back past the entrance to the barn. He sees Mark just reaching for his key and tries a few zaps. Mark drops to the ground with his pack momentarily exposed - the Interceptor zaps again. (10)
