How could I forget the man the programme is named after?
Detour
His job was to chase Candy and Mark in a helicopter
aiming an infra-red zap at their back packs. One successful shot
and the pack would lock.
Now of course, had I been
him I would have zapped Candy and Mark in the first five
minutes. And I would probably have made a special detour to zap
Annabel.
But the game is rigged so
that the Interceptor only gets close to contestants as things
near a climax - which they do with much sweating, panting and
screeching. |
Disgusting really. And exactly the
kind of thing my own zap normally protects me against.
"What zap?" you ask. The one for
changing channels, of course. Which is exactly what I'll be doing
next Wednesday.

Interceptors-lair:
This article is published to balance the more positive reviews! For
every article that praised Interceptor, there was another to criticise
it. I find this particular review harsh and somewhat insulting
especially as this TV critic formed her opinion having watched only one
episode of a series, but I suppose that is newspapers for you. Ah
well...it just shows, some people just didn't "get" Interceptor.
