Programmes in
which a jumpsuit-clad Croft is required to bound through the undergrowth seem more her
line. "They're relaxed and exciting," she says, accounting for their
appeal. "That's what I'd say [she looks uneasily to her agent], wouldn't you? They're
totally action-packed, with sporty, natural people taking part."
And such fun,
naturally.

INTERCEPTOR"
"He's like
one of those childhood characters you grow up with", says Sean O'Kane, the man behind
the Interceptor, who, laser gun in hand, zaps contestants from a helicopter to
prevent them from extracting the £1,000 locked securely inside one of their backpacks.

Capering in black leather is a new adventure for Glaswegian O'Kane: "I've had small
parts in Cagney & Lacey, some movies and commercials everywhere from Asia to
Africa: deodorants, cars, toothpaste...you name it, I've done it. I've also done stunt
work. I run, work out, do weights; I guess that's why they chose me. I went for the
audition on a whim," he adds. "I want meaty, meaty parts, but the Interceptor's
great exposure for me; like a cartoon character come to life."
