Top of her list of
fun things to do is spend most of her time at her parents' home in Kent ("so quiet
and clean"), even though she and her stockbroker brother, Simon, own a Wimbledon
flat. We've got a roof terrace, but it's still, you know, scuzzy." There's
time to have fun, too, with her 6ft 4in boyfriend, Mel, a yachtsman she met when she was
one of three celebrity novices learning to sail on BBC1's Cudmore's Call. "He's
great," she says, with a giggle and a shuffle on her seat. "We have been
together nearly two years."
Future plans
include a pantomime at Christmas ("that should be fun; it'll bring out the kid in
me"), but acting, although appealing, is something she's not actively pursuing.
"I always had dreams when I was little of getting into acting but I had tennis, and
now this, and I think it'd be a bit too much. Plus," she says, pointing out a minor
setback, "I have never had the training."
