Monday 29 December 1997:
Oh well, back to work for me today!! :(
New movie added. The Interceptor screeches to a halt
in his Maserati on the bridge at Hay-on-Wye.
Wednesday 24 December 1997:
Merry Christmas!! :)
I have been suffering at the hands of someone who finds it incredibly
funny to `nuke` my machine via the
internet. Until further notice, my own web server will no longer be
available. Someone was either using
the IP address posted there or maybe in ICQ, to attack my machine.
New wave file added - the Interceptor commenting on
the contestant getting dizzy.
Sunday 21 December 1997:
New picture added of the Interceptor inspecting the dust on
his Maserati!
Saturday 20 December 1997:
Cumbria episode guide added.
Friday 19 December 1997:
Wye Valley episode guide added.
Thursday 18 December 1997:
New picture added - Interceptor sipping champagne whilst
waiting for a late Mikie.
I've now found the ultimate in free web space! :)
100mb!!! With no obvious catch so far. Anyway, it
seems a good fast server, so I have now added a link to the full
opening title mpeg file for those of you
having problems with the split version.
Wednesday 17 December 1997:
New movie added - Mikie sticking his tongue out at his guvnor.
Tuesday 16 December 1997:
Norfolk episode guide added.
Monday 15 December 1997:
I've now made a start on the episode guide. Details of the
first episode (Kent) are now on-line together
with pictures from that show.
Sunday 14 December 1997:
New movie added of a brilliant zap by the Interceptor. Mark
the contestant had no idea he was right
behind him! Very funny and well worth the download!
Saturday 13 December 1997:
New picture of G-MEAN added.
Friday 12 December 1997:
New picture of the Interceptor driving the Maserati added.
Thursday 11 December 1997:
New picture of G-MEAN added.
As a follow up to yesterday, the intro movie is a
self extracting archive, the first file of which is the
executable you run to extract the file. For some bizarre reason, if I
FTP the file as a straight EXE, it won't download. Which is why I have renamed it to a RAR suffix. Once
downloaded, the file should be renamed back to a .EXE file before running it.
Wednesday 10 December 1997:
The Xoom server is still down, therefore I have found (yet
more) free web space on another server.
I have now transferred the Interceptor opening titles. Its quite a
large file at 4mb, but it does last 60 seconds and is well worth downloading if you don't have any episodes
on tape. It should bring back a few memories! :o)
Please let me know what you think. I've split the
file into four sections to make for an easier download, but I would also recommend getting
GetRight which enables you to
resume broken downloads from both FTP and Web servers.
Tuesday 9 December 1997:
One of the web servers that I use (Xoom) is currently out of
action. Unfortunately, it happens to be the one I have most free space
on. I therefore can't upload the opening titles movie as promised, so
I've added a new colour pic instead. A couple of wave files and one of
the MP3's will be unavailable until the server is
back on-line.
Monday 8 December 1997:
I've finally done it! I went out earlier today and parted
with an obscene amount of money in exchange for a video capturing gadget. So, over the next few weeks, there will be
many more pictures available - taken directly from the episodes I have on tape. Also, I will create a
few small movies for you to download. The first movie (385K) is now available. I will put up the
opening titles tomorrow, which is a little larger at around 4MB, but I'm sure you want it! :) I hope you
enjoy the new pictures and movies, and I would really appreciate some feedback so I know it was all worth
while!!
Thursday 20 November 1997:
At long last, due to popular demand, this site now has a
mailing list!
Enter your email address and hit the button to join - you will need to
enter a few details. I'm not sure yet exactly how it will work. I'm hoping that you will all be able to
write to the list and the other members will see it. If not, it will at least provide me with a way of notifying
anyone who is interested of site updates. If it takes off, I will add
mailing list posts to the forum on this site.
Tuesday 18 November 1997:
Yeeeeeeeeeeeesss!! One more for the Interceptor!! I have set
up yet another free web page.
http://xoom.com/meanteam is the url, but the main benefit is the free
5MB of web space I will use as
storage for more pictures and sounds in December. For now, you can
finally access the Rock Revolution
MP3 file which was previously on my own personal web server and was
not always available.
Saturday 1 November 1997:
I have copied an article published in the TV Guide magazine
on 22 July 1989. Reload the FACTS page to display the link.
Minor correction made - apparantly Sean's character
in the Magic Island movie was Jolly Bob and not Jelly Bob! Oops!! Thanks Hetein! :o)
Monday 27 October 1997:
Minor link modification for the Interceptor Realaudio clip.
New link added to enable you to download the clip
before playing.
Sunday 19 October 1997:
I have copied a piece about Interceptor from the Today
newspaper - printed on Wednesday 19 July 1989. You will find it on the FACTS page. I also have a big article
taken from the TV Guide magazine which I will post shortly.
Saturday 11 October 1997:
Links updated - dead links removed, and a new link to my
net.sis's Interceptor page!
Two new audio clips added:-
Interceptor complaining about people using his part of the river! :o)
Interceptor attacking Claire.
Friday 10 October 1997:
I've just set up yet another free web site. So I now have a
further 2mb to play with. I've therefore moved one of the new MP3 files from my personal server to the new web site.
Just check the Sound & Vision page for the link.
Monday 6 October 1997:
I have now added two new sound files to my own web server.
They are around 1.5mb each and I just don't have the web space to put them on-line
permanently. Keep
checking my private server link and you should eventually get through. They are MP3 versions of the full Rock
Revolution and Interceptor Boogie (7" single B side). MP3 files give fantastic sound quality at
ridiculously small file sizes. I have used the FM radio quality setting for these files. They sound great. If anyone
can host these files for me on their web space, I would really appreciate it!
I have now added another picture to the sound and
vision page. Its a signed photo of Annabel Croft - again kindly supplied by Luke Sluman. I have also increased the
compression on most of the JPG pictures to try and save on your download time and to free up a bit of
web space. The difference is hardly noticeable, but I have the original pictures and will email them to
anyone who wants them.
Sunday 5 October 1997:
I've just added three new pictures to the files page. Two are
pictures that I took of a couple of the Lairs used in the program. The other is a signed picture of the Interceptor
on horseback. This scan was kindly provided by Luke Sluman. Thanks Luke! :o) Luke also gave me another
picture of Annabel which I will be adding soon.
Wednesday 24 September 1997:
It would appear that it really was the Interceptor himself
who signed my guestbook last week. Apparently he was in the UK last Wednesday and had time to look at the
Interceptor sites on the net.
Thanks to Chris M. Dickson for pointing out that
some of the wave files were no longer working. I've now moved all of the wave files to another server at Geocities. If anyone
else notices any problems with this site - broken links, JavaScript errors etc, then please let me know
asap. Thanks.
I've also removed the 60 second Interceptor theme
wave file and replaced it with an MP3 version. This is an MPEG encoded file and is a tenth of the size of the original wave
file. You will need an MP3 player to listen to this file. WinAMP seems popular. Download the latest version
from the WinAMP homepage here.
Wednesday 17 September 1997:
Well this is a day to remember!! It could be a huge wind up
by someone out there I suppose, but it really looks like THE Sean O'Kane signed my guestbook today! :o) I hope he...er..liked
it!! :o)
Saturday 13 September 1997:
I had restricted access to my site at Innotts to Navigator 4
users only following modifications made to the navigation bar. This was due to viewing problems in Navigator 3 and MS
Internet Explorer 3. I have now resolved all problems and full access to the innotts site has been
restored. I will be testing Internet Explorer 4 shortly.
Tuesday 9 September 1997:
I now have five founder members of a new UK Television Web
Ring. The graphics are on the Introduction page. Click the TV screen there go see the full list of participating
sites, or click here.
Saturday 6 September 1997:
Modifications have been made to the Navigation bar to make it
a little more distinctive. I've been dabbling with JavaScript! :o)
Friday 25 July 1997:
The rest of the new pictures supplied by Matt Lee/Chatsworth
Television have now been uploaded.
Tuesday 22 July 1997:
Many thanks to Matt Lee and Chatsworth Television for some
awesome new Interceptor pictures.
Unfortunately, Chatsworth no longer have anymore Interceptor pictures
to send out, therefore the pictures supplied are photocopies of the originals. PLEASE - if anyone has
colour versions of these I would KILL to own them!! I will pay a reasonable price for any copies.
Sunday 13 July 1997:
New Interceptor mirror site created at Geocities. This gives
me an additional 2mb to use. I will add more files to the Geocities page, with links from here. In the meantime,
the Geocities site has the same intro page as here, with all links pointing to this server.
URL=http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/9798
Saturday 5 July 1997:
New Interceptor forum added. This contains all messages
previously posted to the Channel 4 WANTED forum. Please leave a message!
Friday 4 July 1997:
Additional web space kindly supplied by Matt Lee. More wave
files are now available - some of which are held on Matt's server.
Saturday 28 June 1997:
New samples added to the personal server (enhanced files
page) - Candy being attacked from the air & dirty windows!
Sunday 22 June 1997:
